This is an original Japanese cinema ticket stub for Stanleys Kubrick’s 1971 Seminal film ‘A Clockwork Orange’ based on the Novel of the same name by Anthony Burgess.

Upon it’s release the film was met with significant backlash and controversy due to its graphic violence and disturbing content, this led to the films censorship and bans in various countries including the UK where the film was banned for nearly 30 years at the request of director, who cited concerns for his family's safety due to threats from individuals who associated the film with acts of violence. However, In the midst of all this controversy, both the novel and the film gained even more notoriety and a cult following, still strong to this day.

This ticket would have been given upon entry into the actual theatre in Japan to Cinema goers, showing incredible artwork of the films protagonist Alex alongside Japanese graphics and ‘entry’ stamp on reverse- would look great in a frame!
